About Ed & coaching history

Meet Ed Seator.

I’m Ed Seator—a former touring professional with 18 years of international coaching experience, now based in Boca Raton.

From junior national champions to college and professional players, I help each player develop their own game. A late developer myself, I know potential isn’t defined by a junior ranking.

I have coached U14 national champions from the UK, Ireland, the USA and Canada, with coaching roles in London, Dublin, South Florida, San Antonio and Austin.

On the practice court

Coaching philosophy.

01

Movement before everything.

Lateral movement and rotational power are the foundation. With clear fundamentals in place, players have the freedom to find the technique that works for them.

02

More questions. Clearer learning.

I encourage players to ask questions and keep information focused. Every lesson should give them something they understand and can use.

03

Confidence that belongs to you.

A positive environment makes the journey enjoyable. I want players thinking for themselves on court—autonomy is a powerful way to handle pressure.

Seator Tennis · App & help

App & help.

Add Seator Tennis to your home screen for easy lesson access and optional court updates. The website works without installation.

Install on iPhone or iPad

  1. Open seatortennis.com in Safari.
  2. Tap Share. It may be inside the More (…) menu.
  3. Choose Add to Home Screen. Keep Open as Web App on if shown, then tap Add.
  4. Open the Seator Tennis icon. Go to My Lessons, sign in through your email link and choose Enable notifications → Allow.

If the email link opens Safari, return to the app and tap Refresh lessons. If it still asks for access, use “Copy Link” in Mail and paste it below inside the app.

Push requires iOS / iPadOS 16.4 or later and home-screen installation. If Add to Home Screen is missing, look in Edit Actions.

10-second illustrated installation guide. Menu appearance varies by version.
Book a private, shared or recurring lesson

Open Scheduling, use your email access link, then choose the lesson type, length, date, time and court. For a shared lesson, list the players and choose the number attending. Choose weekly repeats if you want a series. Every requested date must be available; if one is unavailable, reduce the repeats or choose another time. Review the result: a request is not confirmed until Ed approves it, unless he has enabled automatic confirmation.

Times use Ed’s displayed coaching time zone. Rates, court fees and payment arrangements are agreed with Ed directly. Booking his time does not reserve a public or community court.

Join a group or clinic

Choose Group session in Scheduling. Ed publishes the dates, court and available places. Select the session and number of places. Pending requests count toward capacity so the group cannot overfill.

View, cancel or reschedule

Open My Lessons and use your email link. Select a lesson to cancel or request a new time. Your original lesson stays booked until Ed approves a reschedule. Group changes require cancelling the original place and booking another available group. Close to the lesson, contact Ed directly; the allowed change window appears in Scheduling.

Weekly series are listed by date. Changing or cancelling one date does not change the rest.

Weather and court changes

Ed posts updates in My Lessons and Scheduling. Affected clients receive an email and, if enabled on their device, a push alert. An update does not itself cancel a lesson: check its status or contact Ed. Ed makes the decision about whether to play.

Notifications on iPhone / iPad

Install using Safari, open the home-screen app and sign in, then tap Enable notifications. If previously blocked, open iPhone Settings → Notifications → Seator Tennis and allow notifications. Check Focus settings if alerts are quiet. Return to the app and use Test notification. Installation alone does not grant permission.

Notifications on Android

Open the app, sign in and tap Enable notifications. If blocked, check Android Settings → Apps → Seator Tennis or Chrome → Notifications; also check the site’s notification permission in Chrome Settings → Site settings → Notifications. Menu names vary by device. Use Test notification after changing permission.

No email, expired link or a new phone?

Check spam or junk, confirm the email address and request a new link after a short wait. Links work once and expire after 15 minutes. Use the same email to recover your lessons on a new phone. Enable notifications separately on each device. Never forward your private link.

Offline, updates and removing the app

Current availability and bookings need an internet connection. Reopen the app to get site updates. To remove it on iPhone, touch and hold its icon and choose Remove App or Delete Bookmark. On Android, use Settings → Apps → Seator Tennis → Uninstall. Removing the app does not cancel lessons; manage those in My Lessons first.

Your details and notification choices

Ed uses your contact and player details to arrange lessons and send service updates. Only the signed-in account and site administrators can view that account’s bookings. Court bulletins are public, so they do not contain client names. Use Turn off on this device to stop app alerts; contact Ed to correct or remove your information. Booking messages are separate from marketing.

SEATOR TENNIS

In my own words

A life in tennis.

My tennis career has taken me from training in Surrey to professional competition across Europe, Africa, and Central America. I reached a career-high ATP singles ranking of No. 494 and doubles ranking of No. 426, competed in Wimbledon qualifying in 2008, and reached ITF Futures singles finals in Poland and Sardinia. My doubles career included professional titles in Algeria, South Africa, Costa Rica, and Nigeria.

Over 18 years of coaching, I have worked with players in London, Dublin, South Florida, San Antonio, and Austin. That experience includes coaching under-14 national champions from the United Kingdom, Ireland, the United States, and Canada; helping eight players achieve ATP or WTA rankings; and working with more than 20 players who went on to compete in college tennis.

A late developer myself, I understand that a player’s potential is not defined by their junior ranking. My own progression into the professional game remains an important part of the perspective I bring to coaching.

Now back in Boca Raton, I bring that international playing and coaching experience to the next chapter of Seator Tennis.

Edward Seator’s professional tennis career took him across Europe, Africa, and Central America, earning career-high ATP rankings of No. 494 in singles and No. 426 in doubles. In 2008, he competed in Wimbledon qualifying at Roehampton—one of the defining milestones of his playing career.

His singles highlights include two ITF Futures finals in 2007, reached on different surfaces: the clay courts of Opole, Poland, and the hard courts of Porto Torres, Sardinia. Those results formed part of the progression that brought him into the world’s top 500 the following year.

In doubles, Edward collected five ITF Futures titles across Algeria, South Africa, Costa Rica, and Nigeria. His winning partnerships included Sam Groth and Raven Klaasen, who later became a two-time Grand Slam doubles finalist. Alongside Klaasen, Edward secured the 2007 Cape Town title by coming back from a set down to win a deciding match tiebreak.

Beyond the rankings and trophies, his career encompassed a remarkable range of tournament settings—from British grass courts and European clay to competition in North Africa, southern Africa, and Central America. That breadth of professional experience provides a strong foundation for his coaching, bringing firsthand knowledge of international competition to the players he works with today.
